This exhibition celebrates Jewish creatives' contributions to American art, drawing from the Columbus Museum’s collection. Inspired by a biblical reference to priestly garments, the exhibition features prints, drawings, and objects exploring Jewish life, portraiture, landscapes, and abstraction. Works by artists like Peter Max and Ida Kohlmeyer are showcased alongside lesser-known talents who helped shape American modernism. The exhibition also highlights the Straus family’s connection to Columbus with a pair of Brilliant-Period cut glass goblets.

COMU is proud to participate in the Art Bridges Partner Loan Network program with seven unique loans of American art from the 1920s and 1930s. The sculpture and six paintings are owned by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

This exhibition explores the role of banks, financial institutions, and currency in shaping the Chattahoochee Valley’s economy over the past two centuries. From early ties to textile mills to the rise of financial services, the exhibition traces Columbus’ economic evolution. Featuring artifacts from the Museum’s collection and loans from local institutions, it highlights historic coins and banknotes, emphasizing their artistry and symbolism in everyday life.
